Amy Weber is an experienced social impact leader focused on addressing complex community challenges to improve futures. With more than 15 years of experience in the social sector, she has a proven track record of success leveraging multi-disciplinary practices to support organizational transformation and community impact. Weber holds a Juris Doctorate from NKU Chase College of Law and a Master’s in Strategic Foresight from the University of Houston. She was named one of eight top innovators by United Way Worldwide in 2020 and has participated in local and national professional leadership programs including GEO’s Change Leaders in Philanthropy Fellowship, Cincinnati Chamber’s WE Lead Class 14, and Leadership Cincinnati Class 48.

This engaging discussion offers a unique opportunity to learn from their expertise and gain a deeper understanding of effective leadership within the bar foundation community.

Bob Glaves – Executive Director, The Chicago Bar Foundation

Bob Glaves, Executive Director of The Chicago Bar Foundation since 1999, previously practiced as a civil litigator for nine years. He leads the CBF’s efforts to enhance access to justice and improve the legal system’s fairness and effectiveness, growing annual grants and fundraising tenfold and launching key initiatives. Glaves serves on the Illinois Judicial Conference, has held leadership roles with Forefront and the National Conference of Bar Foundations, and contributes to various nonprofit and bar initiatives. He authors the CBF’s “Bobservations” blog, has been featured in Crain’s Chicago Business, and graduated magna cum laude from The John Marshall Law School in 1991, with a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin in 1987.

Mary Groth, NCBF Past President

Mary Groth served the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association and its Foundation for 32 years, retiring as Director of Member & Donor Engagement in 2024 after roles including Director of Development & Community Programs. She led efforts to enhance member engagement and community programs, significantly advancing the organization’s mission to promote the rule of law, access to justice, civics education, and inclusion in the legal profession. She helped grow the Bar Foundation as it established an Endowment Fund, Fellows program, and annual special event fundraising events.  Groth is a past president of the National Conference of Bar Foundations and an active mentor in the Louis Stokes Scholars Program and College Now Greater Cleveland.  She is a Foundation Fellow and Legacy Fellow, and continues to engage as a volunteer in Association and Foundation programs. A 1983 J.D. graduate of Cleveland State University College of Law, admitted to the Ohio Bar, and a 1980 B.A. graduate in History from Cleveland State University, she was honored with induction into the Cleveland State University College of Law Hall of Fame (2024), the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association’s Living Legacy Award (2023), and the Ohio Center for Law-Related Education Founders’ Award (2015).

Leslie Barineau - President, Alabama Law Foundation

Leslie Barineau – President, Alabama Law Foundation

Leslie R. Barineau, a 1985 Cumberland School of Law J.D. graduate and Alabama State Bar member, leads the Alabama Law Foundation as President. Based in Birmingham at Barineau & Barineau, she previously served as President of the Birmingham Bar Foundation (2010), Vice President (2009), and Secretary (2008). Barineau was a member of the American Bar Association’s House of Delegates (2014-2017) and National Conference Bar Foundation Board of Trustees (2011-2017), and served as Alabama State Bar Commissioner for the Tenth Judicial District (2009-2015). She chaired the Alabama State Bar’s Family Law Section (2002-2003) and Birmingham Bar Association’s Small Firm/Solo Section (1996). An Adjunct Professor at Cumberland School of Law, she received its Profile of Service Honor (2010) and served on the United Methodist Children’s Home Board (2002-2010). Barineau is dedicated to advancing access to justice for all Alabamians.

Brandi J.W. Ray – Equal Justice Center Program and Outreach Manager, Philadelphia Bar Foundation

Brandi J.W. Ray serves as the Program and Outreach Manager for the Philadelphia Equal Justice Center (EJC), an initiative of the Philadelphia Bar Foundation. In this role, she leads strategic partnerships, community engagement, and innovation to strengthen access to justice across the region. Brandi’s career spans senior leadership roles in prevention programs, strategic planning, family engagement, and community initiatives. She brings a unique gift for mobilizing diverse communities and designing initiatives that move from vision to action. She holds a B.S. in Sociology and Anthropology, and advanced degrees in Forensic Psychology and Divinity. A licensed minister and current Ph.D. candidate in Biblical Exposition, Brandi integrates her faith, scholarship, and professional acumen to build systems that uplift and transform.

Director of Evaluation and Innovation, DC Bar Foundation

Farid Forozi serves as the Director of Evaluation and Innovation at the DC Bar Foundation (DCBF), the leading funder of civil legal aid in the District of Columbia. Founded in 1977, the DCBF mission is to fund, support, and improve legal representation of people who are financially disenfranchised or who are otherwise underserved in the District of Columbia. DCBF also serves as the District’s IOLTA administrator

With over 20 years of nonprofit and international development experience,  Farid specializes in legal aid, service delivery process improvement, and nonprofit program management and evaluation. In his role, he leads program evaluations and overseers the DC Bar Foundation’s  innovative initiatives, including the DC Resource Bridge, a coordinated intake and referral system that connects DC residents to free or low-cost legal services, and the DC Social Justice Transformations Network, which unites diverse stakeholders to foster collective action for social justice.

Over the last 20 years, Farid has designed, implemented, and evaluated programs focused on access to justice, social development, and civic accountability across multiple countries, collaborating with prominent US and international organizations and donors.

A certified Project Management Professional (PMP), Farid holds a Master’s degree in Anti-Corruption Studies from the International Anti-Corruption Academy in Vienna, Austria. He lives in Fairfax, Virginia, and is deeply committed to advancing equitable access to justice and human rights for underserved communities.

Michael Ward, author of Align the Board ( available at Bookshop  & Amazon) and  and CEO: 8 Steps for Nonprofit Leaders to Overcome Dysfunction and Achieve Synergy, brings 25 years of nonprofit experience as an executive, board member, and consultant. He served as CFO and CEO of a nonprofit supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and provided CFO-level consulting for public accounting firms. Ward has held board roles at organizations like Reading Is Fundamental, Children’s National Medical Center, and the HSC Health System, including multiple terms as Chair. He led the HSC Foundation through its integration with Children’s National and chaired the National Children’s Center, overseeing a CEO search and bylaw updates. A former NACD Governance Fellow (2014–2018), Ward has served on nonprofit boards for over 20 years.

Kirra L. Jarratt

Kirra L. Jarratt – CEO, DC Bar Foundation

Kirra Jarratt, CEO of the DC Bar Foundation since 2014, brings over 20 years of legal and community service in Washington, DC. She oversees a $34M budget and drives the Foundation’s strategic efforts, including a Coordinated Intake & Referral System to improve access to civil legal aid. A graduate of Harvard College, University of Michigan Law School, and MIT Sloan School of Management, Kirra has served as Counsel on the Senate Judiciary Committee, Legislative Director for Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton, and agency counsel for DC’s Child and Family Services Agency. She founded Jarratt & Jarratt, representing clients in the child welfare system, and has advocated for the American Bar Association. Kirra received the 2015 Charlotte E. Ray Award and was a 2019 Washington Business Journal “Women Who Mean Business” honoree. She serves on the Leadership Greater Washington board.

Tiffany Gourley Carter is the Public Policy Director and Counsel at the National Council of Nonprofits and works to advance the public policy priorities for the nation’s largest network of nonprofits. She is a national thought leader on issues impacting nonprofit advocacy, policy, and sector sustainability. Working in all three levels of government and all three branches of government, she tracks and spots trends of policy threats and opportunities for nonprofits. Tiffany covers a broad range of issue areas, including taxation, budget and spending, employment, government grants and contracts, advocacy rights, and regulations. A native of small-town Western Pennsylvania, she earned her B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Colorado and her law degree at the University of Hawai`i, receiving the CALI Award for Excellence in Nonprofit Organizations. She is a member of the U.S. Supreme Court Bar.
