Their Mission:

The Austin Bar Foundation works to improve public awareness of the legal system, the administration of justice, and the delivery of legal services. The foundation works to support legal services to low-income Texans, legal education programs, and assistance to lawyers in need through generous donations.

About the Organization:

The Austin Bar Foundation is the charitable arm of the Austin Bar Association, which was established in 2003. The Foundation supports eight programs including the Austin and Central Texas Adoption Days, which brings together attorneys, CASA’s, case workers, and judges to help connect children in foster care with safe and stable homes. You can read more about and view the full list of programs ABF supports here.

The Austin Bar Foundation also has three fellowship programs – the Fellows, Life Fellows and Sustaining Life Fellows. The individuals who join the fellowship programs generously support the Foundation’s efforts to support and provide legal services to low-income Texans, legal education programs, and assistance to lawyers in need. You can view more information on their Fellows here.

Grants and Charitable Activities:

In 2012, the Austin Bar Foundation began their grant program which provides funding to area organizations for law-related projects. As of this year, the Foundation has presented over $180,000 in grants. Through the ABF’s grant program, they work to further their mission to improve public awareness of the legal system, the administration of justice, and the delivery of legal service. You can view the 2021 ABF grant recipients here.
